Netflix Stock Up As Elon Musk’s Anti-Trans Boycott Fails To Materialize
Last week, conservative influencers – including Elon Musk and Libs of TikTok – attempted to “cancel” Netflix over a children’s show depicting a transgender boy coming out. They urged mass account cancellations, calling for the removal of all trans representation from the platform. But the campaign failed to gain traction. Netflix’s stock rose by 2.19 % in the week following the boycott launch, and there’s no clear evidence of subscriber losses. Analysts dismissed the effort as largely symbolic noise, arguing that Netflix’s fundamentals and outlook remain strong despite the backlash.
