Hyderabad: Justice Ujjal Bhuyan of the Supreme Court says that the judiciary must be an inclusive “rainbow institution” that reflected India’s diversity, moving beyond being a bastion of a single gender or dominant communities.
(It seems using the word “transgender” as a noun is common in India and not necessarily a sign of disrespect.)

India: The News Broadcasters and Digital Association (NBDSA) has fined Zee Telugu News 100,000 rupees for airing a programme in which it deemed the transgender identity of a group of arrested persons to be ‘fake’

The Delhi government is expected to notify rules within the next 15 days to bring transgender persons in the national capital under key welfare measures, including the SMILE scheme, shelter homes and health coverage.
